Naga New Year Festival Tour
WF-001
(5 Days/4 Nights)
The Naga Region in Myanmar’s Sagaing Division includes the townships of Leshi, Lahe, and Namyun. The Naga tribes, spread across the northwestern hills of Myanmar and near the India-Myanmar border, celebrate their New Year on January 15. The festival, rotating among Leshi, Lahe, and Namyun, lasts for two days. January 14 features the New Year Festival Pole ceremony, marking the start of festivities. This celebration follows the harvest season, allowing the Naga people to gather, share experiences, and plan for the future. The Naga proverb, “When Legends Die, Dreams End. Hold to Tradition,” underscores the importance of maintaining their cultural heritage.
