Yangon – Bagan – Popa – Yangon (Balloons over Bagan)

Day 01: Arrival Yangon (-, L, D)
Upon arrival at the Yangon International Airport, our warmly local guide will pick you up with welcome signboard and transfer to the Hotel for Check-In. First visit to National Museum (close on every Mondays & Tuesdays) where you can see the 8m-high Sihasana Palin (Lion Throne), which belonged to King Thibaw Min, the last Burmese king and other several interesting exhibits. Then driving through Chinatown area and the Indian quarter where you can see Colonial Style Buildings, which is harmoniously mixed in the downtown area with famous and graceful pagoda, “Sule Pagoda” situated in the center of Yangon, and City Hall. Continue visit to Bogyoke (Scott) Market (close every Mondays and Public holidays) where you can see the collection of Burmese Handicrafts. Enjoy sunset at Shwedagon Pagoda, the ‘heart’ of Buddhist Myanmar which is believed to be 2,500 years old. You will see so many people are praying and making offerings at Shwedagon Pagoda especially on Full Moon Days and religious days. Transfer back to your hotel and stay overnight. Lunch & Dinner will be served at Local Restaurant.
Day 02: Yangon – Bagan (B, L, D)
After breakfast at hotel, our local guide will pick you up at your hotel to transfer to Yangon Domestic Airport for the flight to Bagan (Nyaung U Airport). First visit to Nyaung U Market and continue to Shwezigone Pagoda, built by King Anawrahta in the early of 11th century. Then visit a local lacquered workshop, one of Myanmar’s best-known handicrafts. Check-in to your hotel. After lunch at local restaurant, visit to Ananda Pagoda – with four standing Buddhas, built by King Kyanzittha in the 11th century and Manuha Temple – built in 1059 in the Mon Style, Nan Paya Temple,and Myazedi Stupa where you can see Myanmar’s Rosetta Stone, bearing inscriptions written in four languages. Continue to Myinkaba area and visit to Gubyaukgyi Temple – built in 1113 by Kyansittha’s son Rajakumar dedicated to his father’s death. Enjoy beautiful and amazing sunset view at Shwe Sandaw Pagoda. Have dinner at local restaurant and overnight at hotel.
Day 03: Bagan – Mt.Popa – Bagan (Balloons over Bagan) – Yangon (B, L, D)
Have breakfast at hotel and transfer to Popa, 50 km away from Bagan approximately 1 ½ hr. Mt. Popa (referred as the “Mt. of Spirits“) is an extinct volcano (1518m above sea level) on the slopes of which can be found the sacred Popa Taungkalat Monastery (famous for being home to 37 “Nats”– spirits of ancient ancestors and it is said that the mountain is their abode). The monastery is entirely surrounded by sheer cliff faces and offers stunning views of the surrounding plains and Mt. Popa itself. You can climb up the 777 steps to get the monastery at the top but beware the monkeys. On the way back to Bagan, a stop will be made to try traditional snack – made from palm juice. Arrive Bagan and enjoy “Balloons over Bagan“, average of 45 minutes of flight with a hot air balloon basket (the entire experience will last about 2 ½ hours). It is a unique opportunity for visitors to see the ancient kingdom, Bagan, one of the fines sights in the world with ancient temples. Enjoy dinner at hotel and stay overnight in Bagan.
Day 04: Yangon Departure (B, L, -)
Enjoy breakfast and transfer to Nyaung U Airport for morning flight to Yangon. Arrive Yangon, continue visit to Kaba Aye Pagoda (World Peace Pagoda) and Maha Pasana Guha (great cave) was built simultaneously with the Kaba Aye Pagoda and is located in the same complex. The six entrances of The Maha Pasana Cave symbolize the Sixth Great Synod. Then continue to Gems Museum, near Kaba Aye Pagoda. The Gems Mart at the Gems Museum consists of 82 stores on three floors, and sells high quality raw and finished gem products, offering rubies, sapphires, pearls, jade and more (open from 9 am to 5 pm Tue through Sun). Lunch at local restaurant and proceed to the Chauk Htat Gyi Pagoda (65 meters long Reclining Buddha image). Afterward, you will be transferred to the Yangon International Airport for departure.
